Soccer Night in Town

Tuesday nights are soccer nights for my daughter. She is in the ladies league so they don't play until 9pm. When she works afternoon shift she has to ask to get off work early so she can play. When she got home today the very first thing she said to me was, "It's pretty cold out there. Are you sure you want to go?" I've already written off going to any out of town games because we ride with one of the coaches and I have no control when the weather is bad. I told my daughter that I was bringing my winter coat with me tonight. What I ended out doing was on top of my jeggings and long sleeved t-shirt, I put on some warm sweat pants and a hoodie. I ended out sitting in the car, brought my winter coat out and covered myself with it. Then I eventually pulled out a blanket over top of the coat. Then I pulled out a zip up hoodie and put it on over top of the other one and put both hoods on. (Body warmth escapes from the top of the head). So I was pretty cozy in the car and was parked right behind the goalie so I could see everything. I never turned the car on to warm it up because they don't like headlights shining at the players... plus there was very little gas in the car. But once I put those hoods on, well, at half time I actually dozed off. LOL! So how cold was it? Our temperature is in celsius. It was 11 degrees when we got there and 8 degrees when we left (double it and add 32 to get the farenheit temperature). Honestly, I am really tired of this up and down weather. It is making me sick, literally. My fibromyalgia can't handle it. And I think it is also contributing to my stomach problems (the stomach is a second brain). As for the soccer game, I noticed my daughter is the only player on her team that never left the field. She was never pulled off for a substitution. She is the captain. And the game ended in a 1-1 tie. They played a good game until the last few minutes when they started falling apart in their own end (which was way down at the other end of the field but I could see it ). I hope the weather warms up because I bought a couple of really nice sundresses, one to wear to a wedding on July 2nd. Don't want to have to wear a coat over it. Dang weather!

Wow...a little cold sounds good right about now. High desert, Southern California...temps have been in the 100s (Farenheit). Do hope you get to wear the sundress.

Well, my body is hurting pretty bad right now... maybe because of the position I was sitting in in the car for awhile, or maybe the outside weather is having its affect on me altogether. I'd rather be in the dry heat.

Our nights are now starting to get down to 10 or 11C and the days about 16 to 18C. I find a hood really helps keep all of me warm too.

It's much cooler than usual here too. I hope it warms up soon, I have enough of cold weather.

@LadyDuck It's pretty darn strange. Is there anywhere in the world where the weather is just right: Warm, no humidity, consistent?

@patgalca I am sure there are very few places in the world with the perfect weather, but not too many. I have visited some places in Spain with a perfect weather.

The weather here has been crazy, too. We just had three days in the 90º F (32º C). Then by Sunday the high temperature is forecasted to be 64º F (18º C)–a big drop. And yeah, if you are cold you should put a hat on because you do lose heat out of the top of your head. (I probably shouldn't point this out but the math for changing C to F changes depending on how hot or cold it is but your calculation is close. Only off 2º F when when you use it to figure 11º C. The hotter or colder it gets the from 0º C the farther off it is. At 0º C to about 4º C (or -4º C) this math is close but beyond that the difference begins to widen. I'm just being picky. It's a good way to estimate the difference.)
