Dinner at IHOP

My dad has been wanting to take my kids and I to IHOP for a few weeks. My dad left today but last night we went out to eat dinner with him. He has never been to IHOP and it has been a few years since my kids and I went. My father ordered a burger and it came with a side of fries which were unlimited refills. My kids and I each tried a few of them and they were delicious. My son and daughter both got a free kids meal. My daughter also ordered one of their new Paradise Pancakes the Strawberry Passion Fruit Pancakes. It was 4 delicious cake like pancakes with a layer of cream cheese between them drizzled with strawberry syrup and topped with strawberries and cool whip. Everyone tried a bite of it. It was huge and absolutely delicious. I ordered Strawberry Banana French Toast. It was pretty good and was a huge amount of food on the plate. I was surprised when they brought it out how much food it was. My dad bought a cake at Walmart for my sister to celebrate the new baby. When we got home from IHOP we went over to see the baby (my sister was finally released from the hospital as her blood pressure is down enough to come home) and ate the cake. To finish up my night I went to my mans house for a few hours and watched a movie : Mockingjay Part1. His son will be living with him now so I will not see him often so I was glad to be able to go out last night.

glad you enjoyed the evening with your dad.I`d love french fries refill in a restaurant, we dont have any refills here at all

Oh boy I would hate not having any free refills on anything like that. The free refills on fries was an awesome treat. Almost every restaurant you go to here there is at least free refills on soda if nothing else. I never buy soda though we just drink water as I try to cut back on the sugar.

@miniam We have a few buffets around here where you pay one price and eat as much as you can. I love it!

@shaggin Or the *ALL YOU CAN EAT* saw it first when l was in the US, we dont have it here either.Im not a big eater so it does not make any difference to me but im sure my husband would love it, he eats about 3X what l eat in 1 sitting,.

That looks like a delicious dish (Strawberry Banana French Toast). I worked there for a short period of time in the summer and since then have not ate there except the regular pancakes. Lol. Are you and your man ok now??

I have had their regular pancakes years ago and I don't remember them being anything very special. This food was amazing! My man and I are okay. His son will be living with him permanently this weekend. It will be very hard to see each other and spend time together. He wants to keep seeing each other though so I guess I will just continue. I just don't see how it is going to work out in the long run. I really love him so much its just hard. Just the two of us are good its just throwing our kids in the mix creates a lot of obstacles.

@shaggin That is good to hear the food is delicious! I should try some more sometime. I hope all works out. I am not in your position of kids so I wouldn't know, but it is more than the relationship as the kids are involved.

Hahah I bet. You probably would be even more hungry if you saw the Strawberry Passion Fruit Pancakes my daughter got. It looked and tasted even better then my meal that I posted a photo of.

I got a free one for my birthday one time. It was okay I remember but nothing special. These foods I got yesterday were amazing though!

The adult servings were huge. I was shocked how big they were when the dishes came out. It was awesome!

Oh my gosh it was all amazing the food I ate there. I wish I could eat there all the time but it would be costly.

The IHOP closest to here, does not offer large portions. I sort of feel like when i go there...that I am not getting my money's worth. I have been to other IHOP's that are better.

We did. I haven't gone back though. It will probably be a once a year kind of treat for my kids and I.
