Even when it is super hot, people in the cities wear pans and closed shoes. If you walk around shorts, or dress with flip flops, it will be considered rude. Even going to Banks with shorts and flip flops is not considered good. The people will be offended if you look ungroomed, sloppy, and unwashed. Most cubans spot a non-cuban miles off and very subtle differences in dress sense will be detected. Older cubans that want to wear something short use mini skirts and often wear lycra shorts underneath. Short jum-suits are popular in Havana and it is fashionable to wear shorts. Women older than 25 wear them. Women always should wear a decent dress. They will not be allowed into Bars and Restaurants (in some ) wiith shorts on. Pashmina is highly preferre. While visiting a church always cover your shoulders with shawl. They do not wear high-heels. A traveler, better leave his jewellery at home while taking a tour to Havana.

When I was learning SPANISH i went there as a part of cultural exchange programme. Nowadays are totally different. There were only bikinis to wear on the beach . Now, there are many varieties and many brands. A new bikini with the name 'floss bikini' is also introduced now. Ladies are not hesitating to go in fashion. I am not criticizing them. They are all fashionable and more friendly Even Gents also are more friendly and down to earth personalities.

Dress codes varies from country to country. Some culture are more casual and less formal, especially in rural areas.
