Many Disney characters don't have mothers. A Disney producers suggested that a reason for this could be Walt Disney's guilt over his own mother's death. Walt and his brother, Roy, purchased a home for their parents in 1939. After a year, Walt's mother called one morning asking if the gas furnace leaking in the house could be fixed. While Walt thought he had it fixed, the furnace continued to leak, poisoning his father, and killing mother. Shocking isn't it?

I rather doubt that - most of those stories without mothers really didn't have them...
