Hello mylotters, Just got in the office today and guess what an officemate and also an FB friend shared a post from my direct supervisor in his FB wall. It seems that he is not happy that I blocked him in my FB. He cannot see my posts not even my profile. We used to be friends in FB before but I got tired of his posts that seem to destroy the other group of the team. And also every time I share some picture message, quotes and sayings that he thinks are against him, he and the rest of his friends would over react. So to keep it simple I limit my posts so that they wont be able to see what i posted in fb. and i unfriend him since my profile is set to friends only, he cannot look my profile up but the rest can only that they cannot see my posts. and now he wanted me to make my profile public so that he can see it? What the...

You have the right to refuse. I have never been friends with a supervisor on FB and I'm really careful about what co-workers I allow too. You have the freedom of speech and if allowing your supervisor access takes that away from You, then it's your duty to protect yourself.

Yes pamela that is what I am trying to tell them it is my facebook account and i have the right to choose who can view my posts and who cannot. it seems that he is trying to warn me of something. In hos post, he says "somebody block me in fb and you know who she is. Then All i can say is congratulations to you who blocked me". hmm it seems that he is up to something

@ChildofGod81 thank you for this, actually i just post picture messages with sayings most of it are repost from fb friends that i also share. some may have some contents that they think are for them but the real reason is that i just like the message so i share it without intentions to insult them or whatever they think the reason is.

@Bluerain25 He can't fire you for it, so I wouldn't worry. The only thing I would do at that point is be careful what I post, just in case he tries to use anything you say as a reason to let you go. Just make sure all your behavior is without reproach. Social media is used in so many different areas now that unless you're careful, things can very much come back to bite you. But he can't fire you for refusing to friend him.

The more that you should not unblock him my friend . If he you unblock him , he can always see your post and if it hits me he will react . So better let him be blocked .

You have the right to refuse, that's not within the paremeters of his supervisory towards you. That FB is your right to speech and to you alone.

I restrict officemates to see my posts. After I posted things, they only have one day to see that and I will set it to friends only. Hehe.

ive got no problems befriending anybody i know, including my supervisor, on Facebook. if he upsets you with his posts or something like that, then dont have him on your friends list. or, you can accept his request and unfollow him.
