Insurance Billing Blunder!!

While at my Doctors back in March, he wanted me to take another blood test since my potassium was so high. I normally go to the hospital lab but went down to the lab at their office and got it done. Well in April I get a letter telling me I owe them $61.00 for the test. I called my Doctors Office and asked them if they had my right info on the order and they said everything was correct, not to worry.
So yesterday day I get another letter from Lab Corp informing me that my account is delinquent. I immediately called my Insurance company and explained the situation. She asked me what it says in the "billed to". I told her and she said that they billed it to the wrong company. I have Aetna Better Health of Ohio, but they billed it to Aetna PPO something Marketplace. She said that she will call them and get it all straightened out.
Well she called me back this morning and told me it was just as we suspected. Even though they did have my Id number correct , that's all that was correct she told me. I can forget about that bill now, oh yeah life is good.
Have you ever gotten a Bill for tests etc. and it was billed to the wrong Insurance Company?

I have had my health insurance billed when it should have been billed to worker's comp. Took quite a while to get it straightened out. I really didn't worry a lot about it.

@gr8nana6 wwhen we get hospitalized, we can avail of the government project of Medicare benefits, but the deductions are so small, like 10% only of the total expenses, that is why i have to have half a million pesos should i be operated on with my heart.

I was not in that situation but my sister has twice, from two different hospitals, received bills for more than $50,000 that she did not owe.

Yes, I was billed when I paid for services on the day I was there. It was easy to straighten out.
