There is outrage all over about the 3-6 month sentence for Brock Turner, who committed a sexual assault on a 23 year old woman on the Stanford University campus. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail but will be released in 3 months for good behavior. All over the internet, people are outraged. There are petitions and calls to recall the judge in the case and to give Turner a harsher sentence for what he did to the woman. What do you think should happen?

3-6 months are too short... Maybe it's just me, but I think rape is somewhat more cruel than murder.

Actually, the kind of punishments we have are not good enough to work as deterrent. Holding back rapists in prison also does not help. After all, tax payer is burdened. There is enough unemployment out...who will feed prisoners for doing nothing...So other forms of punishments are needed, they need to be implemented from the UN ..I mean, the UN's women and child welfare folks need to do something about it ACROSS THE WORLD. You want to be a member of the UN? Well, implement these laws in your country. If juvenile laws can be insisted upon, why not new laws with new stern punishments against rapes.

@ModernDayWriter ... Rapist loses all rights to own properties in the country. What more, his share from ancestors as well as parents earnings is to be taken away immediately by the government. No it should not go to the siblings. It should go to the government. From that government can build injustices remedy fund. Part of the fund can also be used to improve the law and order system, including machines arms and motors. Part of fund can also be used to reward the team involved in getting hold of such rapist. Tattoo on forehead that he is a rapist. If any plastic surgeon undertakes surgery to repair that, take away his license, and collect from him exactly as much as was collected from the rapist, unless he can prove he was scared for his life, or lives of loved ones, or other property damage or was being blackmailed by the rapist or rapists family. Use funds to compensate the raped victim and help her rehabilitate. Use part of funds to establish smaller courts where justice is served faster. Rape decisions should be out in 10 days. Second time the guy rapes, cut his tongue, fingers, toes, and tattoo entire body with the word rapist and throw him in a place where his language is not to be heard as easily. Ah rapes will come down by at least 60 percent I can bet. Worth a try.

When ever someone gets a light sentence for a crime such as rape.. Emotions are projected and people's opinions will be heard. People can become angry about simple things so imagine the kind of emotions that are produced when violent crimes occur.

He should be put in prison for the maximum sentence and he should not be given any special protection while in there
