So close yet....not really motivated.

I am 3 cents away from my MyLot earnings goal for tonight. Which should be really simple but oh my god, I keep looking at the discussions I want to read and answer, but my brain isn't really with it. My eyes keep going over the stories but I'm having trouble actually reading it! It is so annoying! My motivation has been absolutely awful lately. I have not done much at all. I get like this often but the past couple of weeks have been shocking. I think I do know the reason for being down in the dumps this time. Sometimes I honestly have no idea why. It comes and goes when it pleases. It's not only MyLot. I have been wanting to read more books, eat better, exercise, sleep better, hang out with friends, clean more around the house and so on. But lately I have been lacking motivation or interest in all of these things. You'd think being so close to my goal would hype me up a bit to keep on going. I am answering things here and there but I know I could do much better. Do you ever get like this with MyLot or anything else?

I struggle with motivation all of the time. I have been very busy with work lately and other commitments. So right now I want to just sit here on the laptop but I have to go do some housework and errands and make meals for weekend house guests. I have an online support group that helps me get started. Once I start I can usually keep going. I better leave here and go to that site before I procrastinate my day away. Good luck to you finding some motivation

@VivaLaDani13 I am still here and procrastinating going to that group! Actually I already went there and posted 3 things I was going to do. They are the people who understand it is an accomplishment when I say I started a load of laundry and cleaned one toilet. But now I have to move and do the 3 things so I can go get my pat on the back! How will you get yourself going?

@paigea lol well personally, I think any goal that has been completed throughout the day, whether it's big or small should be labelled as an achievement. Especially for the people who have a hard time getting started. So even if it was doing some household chores, that's awesome! I don't know to be honest. I go through stages where motivation hits and I fly around the house doing things I need to do or things that need to be done online. But the majority of the time I procrastinate for an extremely long time. I know it's depression that stops it. But as for trying to get motivated, I don't really know what works to get me pumped.

@paigea I am SO glad that you have support! I honestly believe that is one of the main things people need when they are feeling unmotivated! Thank you very much!

@ricki_911 Ah it's annoying isn't it?! It actually makes me feel more overwhelmed when I have too many notifications coming through and I can't keep up. Hope you are feeling more motivated today!

@VivaLaDani13 I get the same feeling! I went through and cleared my notifications yesterday morning then within a few hours they were built up again.

@ricki_911 Oh man! Can get a bit frustrating sometimes. I mean it's great people are interacting with ya but yeah, sometimes it can be hard putting a dent in the notifications.

@VivaLaDani13 Thanks! I still can't seem to get in the groove this month. I want to hit $10 for the month and I'm only on track for $9 with zero wiggle room. Yes I'm a nerd and calculate everything out!

Sorry to hear about your predicament. I do have times to feel demotivated but I keep pegging away till I come out of the rut. I count my obvious blessings and that helps. I feel you should find the reason behind your present condition - siva

@Shiva49 Thank you for your nice message. It's just mainly depression that does this to me. Happens often. I am glad you have a solution to get yourself out of the rut! That's good!

@VivaLaDani13 I had written on these lines earlier at another site but someone mentioned it is more than a positive change in attitude than can give relief. So if this persists, it is better to seek professional help - siva

Sometimes I feel this. Like you are very eager to meet your goal yet no matter how hard you try it's not worth it. Then motivations goes down.

@JustBhem That's exactly right. It isn't a fun thing to feel either. Really slows you down from getting things done.

for me I would not want to set a goal but rather I will make sure that I enjoy responding and you will never know that you might even surpass your goal for the day.

@3acres I agree with you. I don't always make a goal to be honest. Just that night I was so close to reaching a certain number that I thought I'd just try to reach it cause I had nothing better to do anyway.

Motivation is sometimes in very short supply. That's when I used to zombie out on Spider Solitaire but since I went to Windows 10, I've lost it. Hope you find your 'get-up-and-go' soon.

I'm like that lately, so many things I want to do but not motivated enough. I think it has to do with my discontent in life. I'm waiting for my situation to turn around hopefully soon. I hope your situation improves.

Maybe you just need to set this aside and get a fresh air to clear out whatever it is that pulling you down? A brief walk around the block can sometimes help you recharge. Hope you're now feeling the motivation you once had. Just take it easy.

@rachz_kisses That is a good suggestion and that walk sounds nice. I have been meaning to go have a walk around the block for ages but of course, I make excuses not to. I used to go for walks a lot but lately not really. Thank you for your answer. :)

Yes. I haven't been on here much lately mainly due to not being motivated and busy with real life and such. I hate feeling low and unmotivated to get anything done. But it gets better and things do change. Keep your chin up.

I don't set a certain goal on here per day, I just do the best I can to read as much as I can. That's basically all you can do, to do your best.

@gr8nana6 I don't usually set a goal either. Just sometimes I like to have a little goal just to have a goal for the day to feel like I have achieved something. I felt good when I reached it. But still, you're absolutely right. It helps a persons self esteem thinking that they have done their very best rather than they have failed at completing something.

I think everyone has ups and downs. Times when we feel we should do something but just don't feel like it. There has been times when I have read a post and wanted to comment but just didn't feel like doing it or just didn't know what to comment at that moment.

@RichardMeister It is an annoying thing to feel. I see most of the people here have felt the same which makes me feel less alone about it. I mean I know that every single one of us gets this way but I mean for right now in this moment, I feel happy that I am not the only one.
