I was randomly wondering that french fries is such a universal dish that it is present in almost every part of the world.
Fries despite being a such simple preparation has so much diversity depending upon what dip it is served with. From mayonnaise to gravy and cheese curds, from ketchup to mustard, french fries is served in such different different manners in different part of the world.
In India french fries is most commonly served with Tomato Ketchup. And as for me I am not a huge ketchup fan but sometimes I like my fries with ketchup but I prefer chilli mayo or tangy tamarind sauce better. But I like the fries alone without any dip the best.
So how is french fries served in your part of the world? And what is your favourite/prefered dip?
(The picture is of the fries I had at a Local Joint last night)

@Blue_bubble My wife and I learned to enjoy fries with gravy while on our honeymoon in Canada 28 summers ago. More and more restaurants here in the south will offer it now if you ask for it.

Oh yes I am aware of that. The gravy is adopted from the Candian Culture where they serve Putin.

@DWDavis I am yet to try it. We don't have the option of gravy with fries here in India so never got the chance to try it.

I dip it in catsup. But sometimes, since I order Coke float to go with it, I dip it in the sundae. It goes well with the sundae.

Never tried that! Sundae is an ice-cream right?
That's sounds really bizzare to me.

Chocolate goes well with the fries?
It's just hard to imagine the combination for me.

If you want to make good french fries at home it will take a lot of time.
You have to follow the steps, not hard but time consuming.

@toniganzon Oh I see! I was unfamiliar to that. I love knowing about the food in different countries so thanks for the enlightenment.

I love eating French fries my dip is hot sauce and it just adds that extra flavor of spiciness. Sometimes I don't mind having my fries with just salt and pepper.

Same here just some salt and pepper and you are good to go.
But I'd like hot sauce too since I love my spicy food.

Honey mustard, ketchup, and ranch. I like to mix ranch and ketchup together and dip my fries in it. It taste like thousand island but not as strong.
