What are we without religion?

I'm not an atheist or agnostic but I know a lot of people who don't believe in religion and they have a pretty objective view about life. What about you, what's your take on this one?

My take is I believe in God but don't sign up to any organized word religion. Jesus Christ didn't either? What did you mean by objective view, just curious.

Like they don't associate anything that's happening to them in any form or religion.. Like karma, God's will or God's time.. Most people who don't have a religion know that they make their own future because of the choices they make and not because of some belief.

@slayer08 This is a discussion correct? We are both doing something and making choices now. I think there is a difference between belonging to an organized religion and having a belief. I know there is more than one definition for religion. For this discussion I want to go with this definition. Religion: a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance Everyone has beliefs. With this in mind who can say they don't have one? I have a point to make if you are interested. If not its okay. :-)

@Bluedoll sure, go right ahead. I do agree with you anyway,. With all the many definitions of religion; it's quite difficult to say actually.

In my opinion, If heaven really exist, someone should have religion just in case. And someone should respect people who follow other religions

Just in case? To not go to hell? But don't you think it's the actions we do that make us good or bad and not what we believe in? I can be a Christian but I can also commit sins.. Right?

I have always been an atheist. Religious doctrines are almost impossible to believe.

@slayer08 The problem for me is that everything has to be taken on trust, with no evidence whatsoever to substantiate it.
