Gunman kills 50 at gay club in Orlando?

Are you kidding me? How could someone who was on the FBI watch list as a possible ISIS sympathizer legally buy two guns, waltz into a gay night club, and murder 50 people, injuring dozens of others?
Will anti-gun Liberals use this use this as evidence that we need to limit gun purchases by law-abiding citizens in the US? Will Trump supporters use this as evidence that we should be nasty to Muslims?
Or should be people who are being watched by the FBI as possible terrorists not be allowed to buy guns legally, especially guns designed to kill lots of people?
Your thoughts?

The only sane option is #3, but I've been watching the hatred fly on the Facebook comments threads and that one doesn't seem to be getting much love.

@teamfreak16 ...Yeah..the problem is that...we have our set of fanatics too. History is a proof that every religion has behaved badly at sometime or the other. So why are we associating it with religion at all, instead of associating it with need to correct injustice and change thinking by orienting folks to do somethings instead of leaving more time on their hands to think about others and develop negative thoughts because of dissimilarities.

@TheHorse That is what worries me because I think he can't differentiate.

I do appreciate that decent Muslims went on TV to state that in no way do they condone or approve of what this nut-case did @TheHorse . I'm surprised there hasn't been a statement by the NRA yet.

@TheHorse ..
All I am saying is, god has to be in heart, or he is not there. I dreamed of a temple visit last night. :) I get a lot of those dreams, and they do leave me with a feel good factor. lol. I am neither a fanatic, nor a ritualistic person Pony. I am also not somebody who confines herself to one religion. My last visit to a temple was almost a month and a half ago and the feeling is never as good as what I feel when I see temples in my dream. I don't do the ritual prayers at home except for about 2 minutes before my mid-day meal. I pray for all whom I can recall then, and then tell god, stop making me beechy, make me an understanding person, and if I am right, make them understand me. That is all to my belief in almighty. I wonder if more is needed. lol

As with that American Idol girl who was murdered, where was security?

I heard that they had unarmed security at that venue. Strange. I guess it never occurred to anyone that she would be attacked.

@JamesHxstatic When you go to a sporting event, you go through metal detectors and bags are searched. Why not same at clubs and concert venues? We live in a society that is now used to such precautions.

@TheHorse His family came from Afghanistan.I am not sure when they came. I thought I read that he had become a US Citizen but that to me doesn't mean anything especially if he is on the FBI watch list.

@aninditasen Yes, it can be motivating. I think it was both anger and sadness over what I saw in Chicago growing up that led me to be a child psychologist specializing in helping poor kids. If people act when they're angry, or become depressed, then those emotions aren't helpful. But if they acknowledge those emotions, let them settle down, and then take rational action, they do serve a purpose.

What really irritates me about people's reaction to this tragic event is that instead of accepting that it was a hate crime, a slaughter of people, and advocating proper action, the media keeps repeating how "we need to be united and not cower in fear" but what good has that done? Vigils are ok people need to mourn but law enforcement really needs to watch these suspicious people and catch them before the act.
