Into the Not-So-Groovy #71 - "Here Comes the War"

I'm not feeling very Groovy tonight, but I've got nowhere else to put this, not without starting a new series, and I'm not in the mood. I've been reading hateful, hateful comments all day on Facebook. I won't even bother saying that these comments are about Orlando, because anyone even remotely trying to send prayers, thoughts, vibes, whatever, to the victims, quickly moved out of the way. Instead, the victims no longer mattered. It very quickly, no matter which news thread, devolved into sheer hate. Naturally, a lot of that vitriol was directed at Muslims. But even that seemed to pale in comparison to the gun/anti-gun, Republican/Democrat, atheist/Christian "arguments" that I read. All of them were at each other's throats, and it wasn't pretty, nice, or fun to read. I'm sitting here in the dining room with all of the lights off. I do this every night, but tonight it just seems darker. I know it's only Facebook and I shouldn't take it too seriously, but not every single commenter can be a troll. Which means that an inordinate amount of people on all sides actually believe the bile they are spewing forth. None of it is particularly helpful right now. But I seriously doubt if it's going to change anytime soon. But hey, at least people stopped verbally attacking each other over LGBT bathrooms for a day, I guess. The anger in this New Model Army song pretty much mirrors my mood. Two lyrics stand out for me right now: "Like a whirling dervish spinning round, faster, the center cannot hold," and: "You said give us liberty or give us death, now you've got both, what do you want next?" (Actually, that's just one of my all-time favorite lyrics.) If none of this made any sense, I apologize. I'm just sick of hate today. Especially when it's between people that should be uniting at the moment. Anyway, here's Into the Groovy #71.
This is the track 'Here Comes The War' taken from the Secret Records DVD 'New Model Army: Live 161203' available now. Filmed & Recorded at The Astoria 16th D...

I am unfamiliar with this song and group. Sure all the politicos express condolences to the victims but that's about two seconds of time as the victims are quickly forgotten as both political spectrums jockey for position in how to use the incident for their own benefit.

Yeah, but these are regular, everyday people saying this stuff.

@teamfreak16 And with just cause though arguments and expressions should be tempered in civilized language. Man is a despicable creature. We as a species are horrible and destructive toward each other and the planet from the moment we came from wherever. This stuff is never going to stop and modern technology has provided the ideal platform to make human behavior even worse.

Sorry you are feeling blue. I guess I picked the right FaceBook friends, because I missed out on most of that, and I refuse to turn on the TV.

Oh no, these were comment threads on TV News station posts. I never heard of any of them until I read their comments.
