I think that this man was crazy and it seems he had an assault rifle. He said that he killed those people to protest the U.S. bombing in Syria and Iraq and the killing of women and children.

Keep in mind that I read this in a comment section and have no idea how accurate it is, but I read that the armed guard was the first person shot. Again, consider the source, but it makes sense.

It is awful what happened. My heart grieves for the families. Those murdered were someone's child and being a Mom, I hope I never have that happen to one of my kids. About the Gay Club, there should be more armed guards, maybe some of the people who work there need to be armed. About the Shooter, I read where he had pledged allegiance to ISIS. And concerning ISIS, I read on one of the news pages that ISIS has encouraged it's members to do lone wolf terrorist attacks through out the world especially during this month of Ramadan. And I also read where ISIS had said just days before the killing that they would attack Florida.

It is so sad when people have this kind of hate in their heart.

You are right in that security needs to be improved and strengthened. I keep thinking had there been a metal detector that everyone had to pass through plus better body searches, this may have been avoided.

It is a very sad state of affairs. Certainly there needs to be more security in places like these nightclubs.

People are heart less. There is no shame. One of my friends got shot, I can't imagine his phone, laying on the floor, or bagged for evidence. Love sent out to all. That's how we fight, if we can physically fight, then we can stay strong for each other.
