When you're student? Do you memorize your school song?

Sup everyone! When I was on Elementary and High school, my school asked me to memorize the hymn, or the school song. There are times that they include the school hymn to exam as fill in the blanks! Sometimes it took me weeks or months just to memorize it, but there are times that I wont memorize those because I don't want to, How about you? Does your school ask you to memorize the school hymn?

Yes, we have to memorize it because we sing it everyday . Singing it everyday makes it easy to memorize for me actually .

I still remember my high school song. "Out on the plains of Southwest New Mexico, there is a school that has much pep and go." There is more but you get the idea.

School Hymn should be taught to every student of that certain school. It should be a must for them to memorize and sing their school hymn. That is one way of showing their love and gratitude to the school where they came from.

Yea I agree with that.. :) but there are times that I forget the school hymn unless someone reminds me the tone hehe

In the past, most schools didn't have their own songs. Today it may be different.

We didn't have a school song that I know of but we said the pledge of alliance every morning.

yes, our teacher wanted us to memorize the song and it makes us easier to do it when we sing it daily

It is customary for elementary and high school students to memorize the school song/hymn, but in college it was optional for us, though we memorized it too by singing it so often when there are porgrams/activities.

memorizing school's hymn including town's hymn and provincial hymn is a must then.
