Should U.S.A ban gun license for common people?

Looking at U.S history, there were plenty of incidents happened in the past where a common man went on shooting spree killing so many innocent people and this is still continuing.I feel it is high now that U.S will change its law so that guns are not accessible to common people as by doing so, they can save many life's in future .It is very disturbing to see so many die for no reason.Every time it is the common man who does this as he will be holding a licensed gun and can fire at anyone if their mental condition is not alright and disturbed very much
