Attitude of People on Indian Roads

June 14, 2016 12:21am CST
How many times have you encountered a person stopping his/her motorcycle or car almost in your way to attend his phone call?? Or driving too slow because his one hand and his brain is occupied in having a conversation with someone over his/her cell phone. Or leaving his/her car parked in the midway blocking other people's rightful passage. And when you confront them, instead of saying sorry, they retort you in an indecent way. Of late there has been total chaos on Indian Roads. Rules are flouted with impunity. Law Enforcement agencies are made mockery of. In one instance as reported in a prominent newspaper- a policeman was mowed by an errant driver. I have reformed myself. Are others following suit??

I experience the similar fools, but not so frequently

@sheetgautam79,I live in a small town. Here such things never happen. If anything happens,it is only traffic jam and violation of rules of the road.Roads are narrow, nobody stops in the middle of the road to attend phone calls. But yes,in metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai what you have narrated here is certainly a big problem.People in our country don't have civic sense.

I've never been to India but from news, movies etc it seems so chaotic I could never survive traffic there.
