Oh my , some of the hot oil suddenly splattered and hit my face last night , while I was turning over the marinated pieces of sliced milkfish belly for me and my hubby’s dinner . I was so shocked , I don’t know what to do with the parts that were hit on my face . My hubby , put some toothpaste on them and he took over my frying . Now , I have two reddish spots in my face . And they seem to be turning a bit dark now . What do I do now to prevent it from getting darker . Anyone please who knows the remedy ?

When I fry milk fish belly, I see to it that when I turn over the sliced one, I will put the stove to off position and then turning it over and back to on position and cover the frying pan until it is done and if something hot oil splashed on my body or any part, I'll try to use ice cubes and put it on the affected area.

That's a nice idea . Next time i will do that . But i think there will be no next time for me. Yes, i did that , after the splatter . It's better now . No more red color and the two spots has become smaller .

Toothpaste. That's the first thing that came to my mind. And you already have it. Don't touch the burned part. Just let it be. It will heal eventually.

Yes, i just let it be . But the first thing i did after the splatter , i dabbed it with ice . But LadyDuck told me it's not good to directly let the ice touch them . Just put it in a damp towelette and dab it with the towelette .

When I burned my hand the doctor gave me a cream to apply to the burned area. I hope you have put a cold cloth on the burned area, this is what works the best.

@SIMPLYD The doctor told me never to use the ice, only a cold cloth apply to the burned area. The ice dry the skin and it's not good.

@LadyDuck Oh really . But then , before i slept i applied my facial toner and the rejuvenating cream i use at night . It seem to tone down the redness and now it's a bit gone though as if darkened a bit .

Yes, i got a piece of ice cube and dab it over them . Then the toothpaste . I hope these will not darken but can be erased by the facial toner and cream at night .

I hate frying milkfish because of the oil splattering! My suki (favorite fish vendor) told me to dip it first in flour before frying then cover it. You can apply some cream or aloe vera gel, the gelatin-like substance in the leaves of aloe vera.

Really , dip it in flour first . I will have that in mind . But i think , i will not ever fry milkfish again . We have no aloe vera in our garden . What i did was put some white flower embrocation yesterday while at the office . Now, they are smaller already , the two of them in my face .

@sunrisefan Yeah it is . I might as well buy one . So what my husband told me is not true . I had it last night on the parts hit , while we ate . But at least there are no blisters .

@SIMPLYD Hahaha! Bright idea, right? LOL! Anyway, I hope you'll find the right ointment for the burn. I think the use of toothpaste is a myth and is not good.

D have you forgotten? I think I have posted it on bubblews or here on mylot long time ago. Beat the white part of the eggs. Separate the yolk. Then apply it to your face. Eggs have collagen that can repair the damage of your skin, especially burns. The first aid that you should apply in case of burns is the beaten egg whites.

But on my neck , they dried out like scar . But i will still make your advice . I put them on my phone .

Now,you can put some honey on the affected part, later on the reddish spots heal over, use aloe vera gel to frequently rub on them. For reference only !

I think it means they are drying off as they get darker and perhaps best to leave them peeling on their own for minimal marks.

Yes, i will leave them as they are . One has a tiny sand like point , that i feel like touching and scraping it . , but i now doing so would scar it .

@SIMPLYD Yeah, it could feel itchy as it dries off but best not to scratch it... Sometimes it peels off when we are asleep at night. Perhaps we scratch it against the sheets without realizing...

Ouch.. that must have hurt. How is it now? I always apply cold water on the part that gets burnt right away. I keep getting scalded because I am in a rush in the mornings.

It's been a very long time since i fried that . It's my mother-in-law who is fond of frying that . So , i forgot the precautions to make . I should have shielded my self with the lid of the casserole which i used to cover it .

@Lucky15 But you know , what we fried was so delicious , the ones we bought at the supermarket and we fried them just enough to be crispy . Unlike mother-in-law who always fry them "tutong " "

The face is a hard one. I know you can dip your hand in flour and you won't even have evidence of a burn, but I don't know about the face. Maybe you could pat flour all over your face.
