I get emails from about.com on interesting subjects. A few days ago I got one on how to rid yourself of ants. Most of the items they listed I already knew about but there are a couple I wasn't aware of. I thought I would share this article with you all so you can be updated as I was.
Here are six proven home remedies for ants. Use them to get rid of ants without a call to the exterminator.

My own secret weapon is WD-40. Ants hate it. I noticed they were coming up a drain pipe to my kitchen sink, I sprayed it with WD-40 and they stayed away for months. It doesn't kill them, but they won't go across it.

Didn't know all of those. We do have an ant problem here and maybe some of this will help.

Cucumber? I wonder if this works on my moringa tree. I've tried one option before but it didn't work.

Cucumber seems to have the same smell to it that the stuff the ants don't like so if that is the same with the tree it will probably work.

I tried the water plus vinegar one. We had so many ants this summer it gets annoying. It worked. I also tried sprinkling of curry powder along their path.it worked too.

I always used different stuff in different areas. Kept things washed down with the vinegar and then used cinnamon right where they came in. And the used coffee grounds worked too.

I don't have ants in the house, but I get them on my lawn a lot. I don't think any of those methods would work there.

If you can deal with the poo, you could always keep some house chickens. They love ants!

@almitrah Who'd you hear that from?! That's crazy talk!

I've heard you can get diapers for chickens. Now they can eat the ants, and NOT poop in the house!
