Reliving the Moments a Great Blessing

Reliving the moments

We are born with certain gifts that we tend to overlook. One is our ability to go back in time and savor some heartwarming moments. I relive those moments often especially in times of stress and uncertainties. Then I feel blessed and that life is always to be cherished despite temporary setbacks that should serve to strengthen our resolve. I am able to be right there and live in those moments again. They can be acts of kindness out of the ordinary. Then I also recollect some hurtful incidents but I wave them away not worth dwelling on them other than to remind me that the world has a duality in the way it works. It is up to us to find our own position, make a wise choice. I feel blessed that I have many on recall to soothe and comfort that the good is always there ready to tap – in fact, those who want to be of help are more than the few out to hurt. Do you recall such moments often? Image from Wikimedia Images

As our friends and ourselves get older we tend to get more nostalgic for times gone by.

I think it is a common trait in us and I wonder whether other species too share the same. By recalling the kindness shown I renew my resolve to do my own part and I feel it behooves on us to do that too - siva

So true, as we get older, it seems that we think back more and more about the earlier moments of our life, the good and the bad ones.

I feel great compassion for anyone who has had a life full of pain and hurt and nothing else. There are people that suffer in this way. I am blessed to have a few good memories to fall back on too my friend. It is best to try to forget the bad ones.

I know few who go through unbelievable pain but press on still. I have a take that they want to complete their journey here and are destined for higher roles later that we are not aware of. The empathy and compassion we show reflect our bonding and the oneness of humanity - siva

As we age, we do a lot of thinking than moving. Just make sure no sour graping about the past. Better to forget the bad incidents in the past but pick up the lessons out from them and linger on the beautiful memories.

I have many moments to recall, when I feel down and I need to seek comfort remembering happy days and beautiful moments spent with my family and those who I loved most.

I agree that there are far more good people than bad, but the bad make more headlines. I tend to push away bad memories too.

Yes, the darker the reality the brighter is the light we shine. We need to press on. Bad memories are just to learn the lessons - siva

We leave our print on every stepping stone of our life. Everything helps us to move forwards, if we let it.
I never do this very often, recalling any happy moments in my past. I prefer to recall sad moments, or not to recall stuff at all. I seem to want it all gone far away from me, the good and the bad. These moments of our lives though are stepping stones to where we are now. Whether we want to look back, or forwards, or to just focus on where we are now, is not really the real point in any of this, in a way. The point of these moments was to allow us I think the growingness of perspective, not to overly dwell on them from the future, but more for us to see their part in the bigger picture of our story, or in other words as all being a vital part of our journey.

For me I cannot but help go back and remember them, the "actors" involved, why and how they played their part. I want to test myself whether I too live up to some who set high standards like few did including my father. My mother is still alive and she was always a kindly soul. That is why I had written about going back in time to understand our beliefs not "rubbing shoulders" with those who have influenced us but just to have the feel and understanding. Of course, I do not want to stay there like Johnny Depp said "just because one likes Disney Land one cannot live there" though I thought it would be nice to live in Gold Coast! siva
