So as I child who wasn't fascinated about getting a ride in a Giant Wheel. But as a child my mother never let me to go on a Giant Wheel.
And then I grew up and life happened. Never got the chance to go on a Giant wheel.
But recently I happened to fulfil my childhood dream of going on a ride on the Giant Wheel. I visited a carnival with one my friend. And though I was a bit unwell but as soon as I saw the giant wheel, I knew this is it,I have to do this.
Now this Giant wheel had no support or guard rails on the side whatsoever so one could easily fall off if he/she is not holding on tight. Also my friend is kind of sceptical about heights so as much as I wanted to take the ride but I didn't want to put her into any kind inconvenience,so I decided not to go instead.
But my friend knew I had this dream from my childhood,so she persisted a lot. And finally I surrendered and went on the write.
The ride was simply magical! The top view from the ride was mesmerizing. On one side was the heart of my city which is a lake glistening with the lights during the night and on the other side was the entire carnival lighted up in such a manner that it seemed no less than jewels of a crown.
But the most magical thing which happened to me was the bonding experience. When we reached the top my friend said the most sweetest thing to me,she said "If this was for anyone else I would have never come, I came just because it was for you". And her words reflected so much sincerity that at that very moment I knew I have got a friend whom I would want to cherish throughout my life.
So guys have you been on a Giant wheel? If yes how was your experience? If you haven't would you ever want to take a ride?

Yes many people die. But then again one could die even sitting inside a room. So there is basically risk in everything in life.

@shamish Not denying that fact. Just saying that we don't know what destiny holds for us.

The scariest and the fun part, is when the come down from the highest part. We feel like the whole blood is into our face. Yet that is fun.
My wife is much scared of Gaint wheel, but we had been on gaint wheel once, it was memorable, The fear and fun together in her eyes

Strangely I didn't feel scared at all! Yes but the coming down is the fun part.
Yes as I said it's a good bonding experience. Here at the carnival most of the people who took the ride were couples.
I can totally imagine how romantic it would have been to be there with your partner.

@vijay_2016 Oh the little moments of joy you have together are like memories for lifetime.
So I was feeling a bit intrigued at that she was your wife or you were still unmarried?

I have been on a Ferris Wheel and I don't like it. I am terrified of heights so it's not for me. I am glad you enjoyed it though and that your friend went on with you-that was so sweet!

For me it was the first time! So that's why I was all excited specially because I didn't get to go on the ride as a child.

@Blue_bubble I'll be too scared to go on that. I like to stay on the ground.

Everybody is scared of going on it but just that if you muster all your courage and take the plunge the overall experience is worth it.

I have experience in riding the giant wheel. I have both emotions of fear and excitement. I feel the fear because I am afraid of heights and excited in the same time because you will see the beautiful view in the top view. When all the sits are filled and it started to roll I really held tight to its bars and really closed my eyes as it moves. The moment I, my sister and her boyfriend told me to open my eyes, I slowly open it and it was really refreshing. It took away my fears and let me enjoying watching the night view of the city with all the beautiful lights everywhere. It was a one step progress to lessen my fears in heights.

The view from the top is really worth that plunge. And glad that you are now one step closer towards conquering your fears. I hope someday you'll get over your fear.
