I am an avid news watcher. I have come to realize this world is going plumb crazy. Well, not everyone, but it seems as though the crazies are beginning to catch up with the level headed people.
Every time I watch the news, which is a couple of times a day, someone has been shot, maimed, killed, kidnapped, or something equally as bad. What has happened to our people?
Have they lost their sense of humanity? Have we come so far that we are going back into ancient times when it was nothing the kill another person? I hope not.
I am beginning to think there is really no safe place left in the world. What do you think?
Right now the little cabin on the top of the mountain where you have to have your groceries drop shipped is looking better and better to me.

I sure do agree. . I think my granddaughter has the right idea. Her and her boyfriend are buying land from her in-laws that is up in the mountains.

@celticeagle I agree, your granddaughter does have the right idea. I sometimes wish my husband and I had moved to Alaska years ago.

I agree that it appears the world is much crazier now, but I will also say that nowadays we almost have instant news and then people pass that along much quicker to friends and family. If I look back and say that the 1980's was a time that it was less crazy in the world, I do not know if really was or not. Back then, yes we had TV, but there was no internet and there was only 3 major TV channels at the time and for sure no 24 hour news stations. Most of the time, unless it was a major story, such as a mass killing spree, you would normally not find out until you read the full paper (not just the front page). If you did not read the newspaper then you would learn about it from a friend. The problem with that is friends or family do not get the stories usually right, so there was a lot of miscommunications then.
Is the world worse of now? Somewhat, but I don't think it is that much worse now. The only difference is within 2.5 seconds of the time something happens, it is now reported.

@mypointsju I know we are getting the news quicker. It just seems to me that it is more vicious. I have seen a change in children and in adults firsthand. I have seen more anger issues and callousness. It seems that there is less of an ability to care about others. I could be wrong, but I have been watching this personality change happening in more people lately.
