It's best to have proof that you're the owner of your work because there will be people who will try to claim the work and give themselves the credit. If one didn't do the work then one should try to avoid claiming doing someone's work. Your ideas, visions, and shouldn't fall into someone else's hands. Well people are trying to take credit for the work you've done. You can allow people to do so or keep trying to prove that the work belongs to "you." If one decides to allow people to claim their work then later show proof that they're the owner. That's why we should embrace our "visions."

I agree with you on this. Plagiarism is not just stealing someone's work. It made you feel you are being stripped off by your intellectual competence of being a good writer. Shame on them. ![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbdown.gif)

I had someone try to do that years ago with my websites and work.. it came down to just logging into my account to prove it was me in the end .. Most of my work and names I use people have known of me since I was 13 and 16 yrs old.. I am currently in a fight with a group of cyberbullies that refuse to remove my content from their forum... Falsely citing fair use policy and all that .... false info... one thing some people do is to snail mail themselves a copy of their work in an unopened letter.. date it.. address it to their name. This can hold up as proof it is yours.. but.. Your work is copyrighted the moment you create it.. but to put people on notice you put the symbol the year your name.. and all rights reserved after it ... which means they have to ask you permission and you own your copyright of your work 75 years after you pass.. but you can make it public domain by just the year your name.. and without adding all rights reserve after it.. on photos you can add that or add water marks even but i do not like most water marks i feel like it destroys the content of the photo in some cases... Always best to have some good witnesses who know you created it.

Someone stole my work once, but it hasn´t happened thereafter. I´ve taken my precautions about this issue.

What you say is true and it is something important for us all to remember. It is sad that we live in a world where we have to worry about any and everything being stolen from us. So we do need to protect and prove what is ours.

How could we protect our work? It is really a bad taste stealing someone's works or ideas.
