Day 92
Psalm 92
Psalm 92:1 < It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:
2 To show forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
5 O LORD, how great are thy works! And thy thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish man knows not; neither doth a fool understand this.
7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed forever:
8 But thou, LORD, art Most High for evermore.
9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
15 To show that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
Church isn’t just for Sunday mornings, though that is when most people go to church. Anytime we praise God, pray, and show God’s love to those around us, we show people what real church is.
Church isn’t four walls and a roof, pews or chairs, an altar, sanctuary, and a beautiful building. If you are a Christian, you are the church. Church is people. It’s people who praise God, people who pray, and people who show the love of Jesus Christ to those around them. A building cannot praise God. It can only house those who enter it for the purpose of praise and worship on certain days of the week.
It is good for us to gather together in one place and hear what God says to his people, and go out and take that message to those we encounter. Gathering with other believers gives encouragement and blessing in our lives. We become fruitful and we will prosper in God’s work. Attending worship services gives us a focal point in which we can begin our work for God, but it is not the place where that work is accomplished. Our work is in the mission fields – the place where we live and work.
I have heard many people say they don’t need to go to church to worship God. They can do it anywhere. Yes they can, because they are the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Wherever you go you take the message of God’s love with you. Your actions and speech tell the story of God in your life. Your life will show whether God is in it or not by what you say and do.
Today, take the love of Jesus with you wherever you go. Be the church of Jesus Christ to everyone you encounter.
Let’s pray: Father, help me take your message to everyone I encounter today. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

I definitely feel my days are better when I start them with a prayer

Thanks for a wonderful and reflective post Valerie! I agree that we don't have to go to church to say our prayers because we can do it anytime and anywhere. However, I think going to a place like a church is the best place to talk to God and listen to His words. I can feel your ardent love for Him and I feel good after I read your post. It is like I have been blessed by just reading it.
