My lazy way to exercise

I don't exercise, hate it, always have. I decided to start small. I try to, at least ten times a day (I try on the hour) to stand up and jog in place for 2 minutes, or do squats or arm circles, or something, for two minutes. Yeah I know I won't get my heart rate up this way, but I can do 2 minutes, and right now I doubt I could last a 30 minute workout or whatever.
I figure I start working myself up, and then will get myself another copy of a Richard Simmons video, those were once fun. Dancing doesn't feel like exercise you know.
How do you get your exercise in?

I hate exercising too but I try to exercise everyday for 30 minutes. Besides it promotes good health, I walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I think no matter how long or how short the exercise is it is still exercising, better than nothing.

I would use a tredmill if we had one, they used to have one at work and I used it several times a week

@Jessicalynnt i find that if I do it as soon as I think about it, that works, provided I'm not in the middle of something else. I'm doing dishes at the moment.

Dancing is exactly what I used to do and it worked like magic. These days I do similar to what you're doing. Little bits at a time. For push ups, I saw on TV that you stand in front of a wall. press your palms against the wall and slowly push yourself away from the wall and then back to it. But you have to go slowly so you'll feel the resistance in your arms. You can do reps of 10. It's a pretty good way to do it, too!

@marlina I am pondering just dancing to a song, even if that means arm movement only

I used to HATE it. But when I started working for my client (she's from the US and she's a Beachbody coach, heard of it?) I LOVED IT. I love the motivation she's giving to her coaches. I work closely with her so I tend to get her vibes and it's awesome.
I hate it before to the point that I just don't care whether I am getting bigger and when I worked for her I realize I must do this not just for my family but for ME. I might get sick and my kids are still small! I mustbe healthy enough to be with them!!! So yes, that's what motivation me to work out!! Now I shed some weight off, pants are getting looser AND I change the food intake. Clean eating is utmost important. ;)
I choose workouts that are 30 minutes or less.. I started off with a jog around a minute, then stretching, then I do some 50-100 squats, 100 jumping jacks, then I bought this endurance band that I use for some pilates. I also love cardio ;) I tend to do this for 15-30 minutes...and before you exercise make sure you have ENOUGH water for the day! Or else you will lose your breath. Take your weight (in pounds) divide in half and that should be your water intake in ounces. ;)

@Jessicalynnt After exercise the body is warm and the blood is running, when you take cool drink just like a hot empty glass and you pour cool water, the glass will break lol.
Warm water do help.

I get my exercise by walking with good music. Love it.
Nothing wrong with starting slow, in fact, it is a lot smarter than going wild the first day and quit.
You will slowly build up the stamina and will want to do more and more, trust me!
I'm on your side.

exactly, if I hurt the next day I lose more than I gained, being a little sore is ok, but I need to still be able to move

@Jessicalynnt That's a good idea. We just need to watch more TV and incorporate the walking as well.

@Jessicalynnt We used to have a lot of equipment, but eventually they all broke down and we never replaced them. We prefer to walk now.

@Jessicalynnt I saved the Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies from Youtube and try to do some couple of times every day for about 5 min. That's all I can handle at one time, but I walk around the park every night after dinner.

I feel the same about exercise as you do. I heard sometime ago that jogging or brisk exercise for 5-7 minutes does give you somewhat of a cardio workout. My goal is fifteen minutes a day (with no breaks) of jogging combined with brisk walking inside my house. I don't do it every day, but at least several days a week. Standing up every hour is very good, helps prevent "sitting disease." Good luck.

the best thing i've found is doing push-ups in the shower! now i don't lay down on the ground or anything, but instead just lean up against a wall with your fists against it and feet flat on the floor about three feet away so you are angled toward it and do push up- motions. really works!
