The posts on summer songs that are doing the rounds currently made me think of this one.
Songs of various hues.....
My favourite colour is yellow .
My obvious choice for a song with 'yellow' in it is "Tie an yellow ribbon around the old oak tree", heard it as a kid and still love it.
Then there are "Yellow rose of Texas" and "Itsty Bitsy, teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini" .Some songs never grow old.:)
As a teenager, I can recall , the Beatles "Yellow Submarine".
Of course for my younger son it will be Cold Play's "yellow". He used to hear it over and over again last year. Generation Gap 
What's your favourite colour and is there a song with the colour in its lyrics?

I remember all those songs. My favorite color is green. All I can summon up are a few songs, such as:
Love Theme from A Star is Born (Evergreen) by Barbra Streisand, Green-Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf, Green Tambourine, and Greenback Dollar by the Kingston Trio.

@DianneN Their Jamaican Farewell is a very popular song here. As children it was among the few English songs everybody knew and sang.

Hmm, well my favorite colors are gold and green! And I'm sure that there are plenty of songs with those colors in them, but I would have to go look. Now I'm very curious!

Right you are. Here is and old pink number..."cherry pink and apple blossoms white."..all these are snatches of songs my mother used to sing around the house...and I grew to love them too.:)
Thanks to technology even though records are no longer in use you can hear them on you-tube:)

Those are some of my favorite songs even though my favorite color isn't yellow. I generally lean toward red so Lady In Red has always been a hit with me

Well, my favorite colors are blue and green (pine trees against deep blue sky), so I can't help but think of James Taylor's "deep greens and blues are the colors I choose." And Miles Davis's Kind of Blue is one of my favorite albums.
