Last night I was wide awake. It was going to be 3.30 a.m. and sleep was eluding me.
I got up,took a book from my shelf and began reading it.That book was not new to me.It was one of the books I like most.I had already read it many times before.
I am a book lover, but don't buy new books everyday. In fact,I can't,because books are too costly. There are many books in my home library that I like most.I have read them all.Still I read them again and again. And every time I read them, they seem new to me.
Do you read a book more than once?

It depends on the books. I have read my favourite books many times and I recently re-read a Danish book that I enjoyed in the past. Sometimes I only read a book once, because I don't think that it is worth reading again. I borrow many books at the library. If I don't like them I can return them and it is not a waste of money.

@else34 Some books are worth reading again. So you read books in 3 different languages? I mostly read books in Danish and English. When I read Italian books I don't understand all the details.

@Gina145 I have been at an advantage. My pc is installed in the room where my aunt sleeps with her daughter, and I can't disturb her at night. So far as tv is concerned,I watch news channels in the evening and don't waste time in watching serials. So night time is dedicated to reading books.

@else34 I cant afford printed books usually. I used to think I preferred that, until I realized 1. how many trees I am saving. 2. how much space I am saving. 3. how many free or much reduced books I can obtain. etc.

Yes, I hear you! I read books over and over again especially if it's something that I LOVE!
Like for one Harry Potter, I am not much of a fan for the movie but for the book, I read it over and over again. It just transport me to another world...and even if I have kids of my own.. I still love it.
Harry Potter is just one of the several books that I love. :)

@responsiveme,That's what differentiates a great book from an ordinary one.Great books never get old.
You read children's books?Me too.Recently I read the Hindi translation of a story by the great Rabindranath Tagore. It's a story written for children.A folk tale. The caption [ in Hindi] is 'Kheer Ki Gudia.'I will never be able to forget the story.
