Many of you know that my brother (or was it my sister in law but who cares?) did not invite me to his birthday party. I would have understood that of a teen, but not of a 70 year old rather intelligent man.
But that is not the subject of this post.
Instead of going to the party, we went with my youngest daughter to an awesome Spanish restaurant where we ate wonders.
Then she took me to my best friend´s house where I was going to stay for the night.
That was the night when Chile and Mexico played a difficult soccer game for the Copa América.
Chile won 7 -0 and we could not believe our eyes! Humberto, man to the end, wanted more goals while Dixie and I wanted even one from Mexico as Mexico´s goalkeeper looked absolutly depressed.
Tomorrow, the US will play against Argentina and we play against Colombia. I should ask my friends to let me stay at their home again. They have a very big TV and it is much better to watch a match with a glass of wine, appetizers and conversation.

I like futbol a lot. My late husband was a pro soccer player and he played for the national team when he was young.

@marguicha That's definitely interesting. My game was basketball granted soccer (futbol) wasn't that popular here and I'm not very good on skates.

@koopharper Football (soccer) is THE game in my country. And when my husband was young, he was part of the best team and also was part of the national team for several years.

Everything happens for a reason.Instead of going to someone's party, you had a great time bonding with your daughter.

Several important things for me happened that weedend. First, my daughter asked for a day off at work to take me to the colonoscopy. Then my son in law insisted that I stayed overnight with them just in case.
That night I bought a pizza for everyone to repay my daughter for some of the expenses she had to make at the hospital while I was asleep.
Then I offered to invite her for a mother-daughter night. It was a lot better for both than whatever we could have anticipated. The restaurant was awesome and we could talk a lot of things we never have a chance to voice.
The frosting of the cake was, of course, the soccer play.
