The smell of paint make me sick

We transferred to a new office building but the construction work is not done yet. Painting and cabling is still on going at the fourth and fifth floor of the building. Sometimes you can hear the drilling noise but what is worse is the smell of the paint.
Since Monday the smell is so strong that it hurt your eyes and your nose. Right now I am sneezing bad with runny nose and watery eyes. Wish they were considerate enough to have us remain in our old office until this new building is completely done

Does wearing a mask helps? I've been to a bank where employees wore masks due to renovation of their office.

I did try using it today but my nose is really very sensitive to strong smells.

Paint smell on open air is fine and I can tolerate it but when you are in an enclosed location, it will really make you sick.

You are right. Many people are sensitive to paint smell. What you have to do is to leave the house/building for some days after the paint work is over and then to step in .

I did go out sometime to breath fresh air outside the building but has to go back to work again

@Bluerain25 The office should take some time after the painting is over and then allow the employees inside on regular basis. They must be aware of it. Sometimes there will be burning in the eyes.
