Well . . . one is never too old to learn.
When I was writing a postcard for one of the new postcrossing recipiants - she mentioned in her profile that she is a Washi Tape Collector!
Well what do i know? First of all what is Washi tape?
I eventually googled it - because after sliced bread GOOGLE is the best thing on earth!
I was educated in the facts that Washi tape is a printed Japanese paper tape that is self-adhesive and comes in rolls like regular sticky tape.
I dashed on out to get me some rolls because I could never let a new postcrossing friend down by not supplying her with a strip for her collection.
Being a collector of all sorts myself, I know what its like to be supported!
They were not precisely what I was looking for, but as soon as I get onto a good delivery website, I shall get the ones i want - AFRICAN print and designs - and send her another washi taped postcard!
Whats your take on the tape?

I first heard about this from another Mylotter, Jean Marie Barney. She was discussing pocket letters and mentioned this, so I had to look it up as well.
Apparently it is originally intended as a decorative accessory, but due to it's easy transportation ha become quite a popular iten for collectors.

I have dozens of rolls of it and LOVE it! I often put it on my postcards...I'm surprised I didn't put any on yours!
