Looking For Utopia

As I get older I find my mind turning towards finding a Utopia to settled down in and live the rest of my life. Oh, I do realize there is no place that is perfect, but, wouldn't it be nice to live in a place with the perfect government to take care of us, no killing, no breaking of laws, no discrimination? Think about it, people all just getting along. The feeling of safety, peace, and love surrounding you. Can you imagine living in such a spot? To all of that I would add an eternity of weather that would be the perfect temperature for each individual. Not hot weather, no freezing cold. No sickness, no death. Looking back at what I have written I am beginning to wonder if it might not become a little boring. What do you think? What would be your Utopia?

@responsiveme what a wonderful answer. It's true if you are not happy within, you will not be happy no matter where you are.

It sounds like you're describing heaven! For me, the closest thing to heaven I've seen was Central Iowa. Pretty girls who didn't know they were pretty. Kind-hearted people who would help you if you were pulled over with a flat. Very little prejudice. Jello with little fruits floating in it. "Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa." --Field of Dreams

@TheHorse it does sound a little like heaven. It surely would be a nice place to be.

@HazySue It sounds corny (no pun intended--Iowa has lots of corn), but I like when people are generally nice to each other. It makes me feel alive and a part of something good.

You need a little darkness to be able to appreciate the light.

@jaboUK I know you have to take the bad with the good but for a little while it would be nice to have all good. Of course, as I said it would become boing and you would not have the appreciation you should if you have nothing to compare it to.

We're pretty happy right where we are but of course we won't be able to stay here for ever. In time the maintenance will get beyond us.

@JudyEv that's too bad. I do know what you mean though. I would love to live in the middle of a big plot of land but would never be able to take care of it and the home.

@JustBhem I would settle for a whole lot less killing going on.
