It is finalized and Great Britain has voted to break away from the EU. It is really quite a shock for me since I just cannot imagine what EU would be like without one of the strongest countries inside.
It seems like we will have to wait and see what is going to happen to the whole European community and its' economy. Great Britain will be undergoing some major consequences politically and economically. Eyes rolling and heads are definitely going to roll as well. Any idea what's going to happen next?
What a weekend, this is!
Ref:
Voting came to an end at 10pm following a day in which storms and torrential rain disrupted much of the south - but did not appear to deter people from coming out to register their view at the ballot box.

Europe is the greatest idea since USA. The only ones who have not agreed to this are English people : they joined belatedly, have put a foot inside Europe, and have kept the other foot outside : UK was not in the Schengen area, UK kept its money, etc. The result is that the benefits of living in Europe were not seen by basic people. It was time for UK to chose where they wanted to put their two feet. I think it offers a chance for a new start in Europe. For UK, it might be the beginning of the end, if people in Scotland and Northern Ireland leave it to stay in Europe...

Along with many economist, this move by the Brits might be the beginning of the end which is not going benefit any one at all. This upcoming uncertainty does spell trouble and trouble is definitely the last thing any one would want during this challenging period of time.

@artemeis why should British citizens bail out the inept greek government?
We are penalised for having a better run country.
I'm glad that will be stopping.

@Mike197602 Well said, I think the average Joe Bloggs in the UK sees all the bail outs for the dysfunctional Eurozone and feels mightily disgruntled that we get penalized for having a better run / more prosperous country!

I don't know much about why they have to hold a referendum on seperating from the EU.However,I think it is certainly an earth-shattering news and It remains to be seen if it brings weal or woe.

I feel that if he had anticipated this outcome he would still go ahead with the referendum to allow the people to speak. For this I have to give him full credits here.

The reason we had a referendum was because before the last general election a party called UKIP was looking a serious threat to the Conservatives.
A lot of traditional Conservative voters are eurosceptics so to keep their vote Cameron made an election promise for a referendum which he delivered.
I think if he knew what the result would be he wouldn't have made that promise...but then he may not have won the election.

I read something about it via the net. Although I felt shock to it, but I think there are still some reasonable reasons for Great Britain to leave EU. At least there are still some good sides for them to do so. After all, their people chose it. At least they could vote to stay or leave.

I don't know how the effect will be if they separated themselves from the EU. I think more should have been discussed before a vote was put to place, unless the people had long decided for it.
