It's been a tough week so far. For three weeks in a row, We've been undergoing intense training sessions for our departmental examination. Classrooms bore me, but, sadly 85% presence is necessary to appear in the Exam. Btw, I work with Government Audit department of India. It's counterparts are called "Auditor General" or "GAO" in many nations.
Watching it rain is a soothing experience, especially after a string of real hot days. Sitting in my balcony with a cup of tea, I'm looking at my Neighbour, one Mr. Patel. A wealthy man with a Pot belly. He was still eating something. Made me wonder what else he wanted to prove. I know it's bad manners talking bad about someone's paunch, but, it's you guys. We can talk about the things we like or don't like much.
Quickly i searched obesity over google and found out that it is the cause of around 60 out of 100 Medical conditions. While, causes for obesity differed from medication side effects to fast foods, one factor remain unchanged- Lack of activity in life.
Made me wonder that despite owning all the wealth in the world, how poor Mr. Patel is on the account of health. Isn't obesity as bad as Smoking, Rash driving or Alcoholism. They all kill us prematurely and hinder us from a fuller life experience. The only difference is we condone it, unlike other bad habits. Shouldn't Exercising be a compulsory ritual in every household.

Lol, there are too many pot bellies around us everywhere, tough to believe that some medical condition (s) is the cause.

Yes obesity has become a disease in India now. Lot of people have started using machines for most of the work. Nobody walks, just like 10 yrs back TV became a necessary evil at every household, today bikes are at every house. Most people prefer bikes and cars and have forgotten walking. Junk food consumption has also increased, more and more burger and pizza outlets have opened, and every weekend that's the food for the family. Really pathetic. Wake up India to healthy food and exercise.

@durgabala. Very true. Obesity has not been a "Desi" issue of India, until we picked up from West (along with many nicer things). It's just like self serving fast food restaurants in India, recently introduced and followed by masses.

Yes. I fully agree with you. It is the inactivity which is mainly responsible.
