Cedar Point Amusement Park

I have the good fortune of living less than ten minutes away from one of the best amusement parks in the world = Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. I moved here after college for a job, that was almost 20 years ago. I had visited once before in 1989 just out of high school when the record breaking Magnum XL-200 debuted. I came back again in 2000 after moving to town in 1998 to the debut of Millennium Force. I met and married my wife, a Sandusky native, whose family used to make the park's famous french fries back in the day. We now have a 9 year old daughter who at this time last year was absolutely terrified of the tamest roller coasters over there (to the point of having a complete crying meltdown upon riding the Iron Dragon). But by late July, she had conquered EVERY single coaster in the park (including Top Thrill Dragster) and she absolutely loved every single one! It was a huge transformation in such a short time. We got season passes last year and again this year. What a bargain! We often go over for a few hours on weeknights after work - the pass gives us free parking, free park admission, and free meals on the meal plan! The full package is a bit of an investment up front, but provides a full summer of great entertainment and pays for itself over the long haul. Has anyone here ever been there, and what are your favorite rides there? I saw a few OLD topics on the park, but decided to create my own new thread rather than resurrect an old one.

These season passes can work out to be great value if you are able to take full advantage of the offers. What a brave little girl your daughter must be. Courage is being afraid but doing it anyway. Sounds like she has lots of courage. :)

Yes, we get a lot of use out of our passes, but we probably wouldn't get nearly as much use if we didn't live so close. That is the primary reason we can go so often. The additional benefit is that the passes are also good at any of Cedar Points sister parks. Kings Island is in Cincinnati, Ohio area, about 4 hours away. My wife's sister lives a short distance from there, so we visited there twice last year. We also have a trip planned for Ocean City, MD this summer for dance competition. On our way back home, we plan to stop at Dorney Park in Allentown, PA where out passes will also grant us free admission!

@Luke35 When we were touring England last year we joined the National Trust which then gave us free entry and parking into a huge number of attractions in England and Northern Ireland. It was well worth while.

Someday I wish to visit Yosemite Park. I have seen a lot of it online.

How lucky to be able to just go for a short visit. If I ever get near an amusement park it has to be an all day event!
