Ever look up an old acquaintance on the Internet?

Early this morning I thought I'd see if I could find Lance Cosgrove just because. Don't know if he remembers me or not. Doesn't really matter either. He was my summer camp dormitory counselor back in 1977. I went to camp again in 1979 and he was taking care of the archery range. That's the last time I ever saw him. When I went to college I asked around about him from mutual friends because I knew he lived in that general vicinity. I heard he was a struggling musician trying to make it but never having great success. As a kid I thought he was an awesome guitar player. He practiced in the dorm some, played in the band for the dances and put on a show during the talent show. Great memories. Just to show he never gave up on that dream, here he is playing a song he wrote on YouTube.
song written by Lance Cosgrove and Produced by Lance Cosgrove staring ladiedottie.

When I was studying to take the Bar exam I lived in a boarding house and met people who became my friends during my stay there. I've looked them up on the internet and found only a few of them.

@koopharper most of my friends were men who were lazy to write even just a single note lol

In college during the summers a group of Japanese students would come to study English. I have a knack for understanding mutilated English and strong accents and therefore made a lot of friends. Some of them exchanged letters with me for years. I have not been able to locate any of them on social media.

@toniganzon Most men are not much for writing letters. My two older brothers were both really bad at that. They used the phone.

@koopharper Well if it is a parking lot can't get a ticket I think. Private property. It's nice to meet old friends

He was always a bit of a redneck. The illegal parking is probably just what he does.

I have, and in one case I wish I hadn't. I looked for a friend I was stationed with in Hawaii and discovered her son had been murdered.

There is always a chance of that. In real life my name is rather unusual but there is one other person with that name on Facebook. I discovered he had a son killed in a car accident with exactly the same name as one of my sons.

I've looked up old friends, family members. The internet has been a necessity in times of crises.

It is a great tool. Sadly we often treat it like a toy.

Hmm. The music's not too bad. Pretty good production values too. Have you spoken with him yet?

I was actually surprised by style music he composes and sings. Way back when he did a lot of contemporary rock and pop. I honestly think he could play anything on his guitar and not be out of place in any band you can name. I have not spoken to him at this point.

I've sought out some old friends (and crushes) but without much success. I'll give the song a listen.

I don't usually have this kind of success in finding someone. Uncommon name and a public persona make a big difference.

I'm not generally in favour of Facebook but it does have its uses. Nice song.

His composition is so sweet, about Isabella, his love. Yes, the internet provided us the venue to meet old friends far and near.

Yes, yes I do, personally. I particularly look for my high school mates - where are they now, what are they doing, are they married, is that pretty girl still... you know... 'free'? It's always good to tell yourself - hey, I still remember you guys. What a sad and joyful feeling.
