Hot and Sticky!

My girlfriend and I walk every morning at six. My sisters think I’m crazy to walk at six in the morning in the winter as it’s usually cold and dreary. Well, I would rather walk with the chilly breeze of winter at my back than the sticky heat we dealt with today. It’s not hot out, relatively speaking, but it was sticky. We were both drenched before we finished the first mile. Walking in 80 degree weather should be pleasant. It wasn’t. Rather than the usual three miles, we headed home at the mile and a half mark. I don’t mind the heat and I enjoy walking, but walking in 90 percent humidity is the equivalent of swimming. I would rather do that in a pool.

The humidity is the worst, you feel like you are drowning and suffocating.

It's usually not this bad until August. August will be unbearable.

'Hot and sticky' is accurate. Walking at six is healthy, not crazy. Spend an hour in the morning and you'll feel great for the rest of the day.

I love starting the day with a nice walk. Most days its fine. We couldn't manage it today. Hopefully the humidity will back off and we can walk comfortably tomorrow.

@BettyB Yeah forgot to mention that humidity and walking :D Hope it gets better soon. Even sleeping isn't too pleasant - you wake up all sweaty and all.

High humidity days are better off in the pool than on roads. Swimming is actually a better exercise than walking.. so give it a go.

@BettyB I love to walk too and the summers here are really hot. I try to walk before sunrise to beat the heat. Now its raining so much and I hardly get my morning exercise.

I swim a couple of mornings a week, but I still walk on those days. It's not bad as long as we head out early.

Most days its a great way to start the day. We'll have some bad days in July and August, but September to December will be nice. We'll start bundling up then. The only days we don't walk is when its pouring down rain.

I skipped my early morning walk today, only because of my granddaughter leaving for camp. I usually get drenched when it's humid, but don't mind it. It's the cold I can't take.

Walking this morning (Sunday) was much better. The humidity is down a bit and there was a breeze.

That is hot weather to be walking in, I prefer it to be in the low 70's or else it gets to be difficult breathing, especially when its muggy.

Usually its not a problem early in the morning. Today was the exception. Hopefully it will be cooler tomorrow.

I swim two mornings a week. I love it. I wish I had access to the pool seven days a week. I would stop walking until the weather cooled.

It isn't much fun doing anything in high humidity. I'd be walking early mornings too.

I'm not as good about it as my girlfriend. She usually walks 3 miles, rain or shine, hot or cold. I head home after two miles, she continues on. I hate to admit she's 10 years older than me.

I think I would too, I didn't walk at all today, and I feel bad that I didn't . It was over 100 degrees here but I could have gone to the workout room or I could have gone swimming.I didn't do either one. Shame on me.

We've had heavy rain and thunderstorms today, in fact it's been like that pretty much all week. My petunias are drenched and soggy. I wouldn't like that 90% humidity either.

I like walking too in the early morning. As the air smell very fresh in early morning and the city is quite. But now i can't walk in the morning as I have 3 kids to take care and send them to kindergarden in the morning, and there are too much chores have to do in the morning. We have to wait untill they grow up a little, so we can have time to walk in the morning.?? Enjoy yr early morning, it is real good.??
