Any inspiring hospital stories?

Many of us have experienced that 'hospital feeling' one way or another. Sometimes it's heartbreaking to see a friend or a relative trapped in bed, in a world where time slows down and old arguments seem so stupid. Sometimes it's wonderful how modern medicine lets people get back to life and live happily ever after. Personally, I owe my health (if not my life) to a few surgeons and nurses who took great care of me at times when I really needed help. I often think to myself that they came right here straight from heaven. I have also learned how patients can successfully help each other overcome individual difficulties, since everyone's in the same boat, right? So, do you have anything from your experience to share? Maybe you met some amazing people? Maybe you discovered your future profession? Maybe it has changed the way you look at the world?
