In 2012, a German newspaper reporter asked Lee Kuan Yew, our founding father, about EU, "Is the European Union that we have today not a great achievement and an inspiration for other regions in the world"
His reply was that EU expanded too fast, and "will probably fail".
I think Brexit is one unfortunate result of a fast expanding EU. If Lee Kuan Yew is still alive, he will see his prediction comes true.
ONCE again, one last time the old friends wanted to speak to one another. At the beginning of May, Mr Helmut Schmidt and Mr Lee Kuan Yew met for three days in Singapore. The former chancellor, 93, and "Harry Lee", 89, the longstanding former prime minister

This fast expansion to Eastern Europe was mainly asked by UK to expand its market and have a cheap labor force.
If something has failed in EU, it is the ultra-liberal model wanted by UK, with their special status lowering the social element. As they were the only country advocating this model, I do not think that we will have soon another Brexit, like are thinking many Brits. On the opposite I think that their leave will be globally favorable to EU citizens.

At first I was quite puzzled by Trump when he announced that he was happy about Brexit.
Then I read carefully about his investment.
His investment was a golf course in Scotland.
In this case, it makes a lot of sense. If I were him, I would be very happy too.
Scotland wants to remain in EU, and that means a lot of the rich and businesses will move from London to Scotland, and they will play in his golf course.

@scheng1 I suppose that he has also interests in England. There is already a Roman wall between Scotland and England, but it would need to be restored to be efficient, and Trump is certainly the man of the situation when it comes to build walls.
I like Scotland, but only during summer. The rest of the time it is a too cold place for me, and probably also for somebody living in London.

It is shocking for us, but wise men can foresee the future!
