Let's get Married to our Smartphone. Interested? Go to Las Vegas, Nevada!

Apple iPhone 6 Plus + Sterling Silver Band Ring
United States
June 26, 2016 2:30pm CST
The Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada just married a man to his smart phone 2 months ago! His point in the marriage is that we're technically "married" to our smartphones since we have our phone beside us, with us, at all times so he wants to make it a point..... And, what's his point? The phone isn't a human being. Either way, he did get the publicity he may have wanted! This Chapel never denies any requests, some get married to pets and weed, and of course these weddings are not legally recognized, just for fun and does cost money. Is there something you would like to marry that isn't human? The things people do... Several years ago, the closest relationship i had was with my blackberry phone. It has the strongest vibration mode among any other phones lol! Did I want to marry my blackberry then? No way! I was content with just having a relationship with it, so why do i have to go to all those crazy ceremony? Besides, I'm not after publicity. I want a quiet, private life with my phone!

I really can't imagine someone marrying a thing, even if it's for fun. Seems they're wasting their time and money.

I agree with you - a waste of money and time. The man probably wanted some fame.

Stupid of him to spend money in this way, though he does make his point. I think we are getting too tied up with technology and that is not a good thing at all.

@infatuatedbby Sometimes I think most people focus on the wrong thing in life. Having more money is better than having access to more technology gadgets. Yet people are spending more recklessly to upgrade their cellphones and whatever else. They can live without the gadgets, but they cannot live without money. It is a given that the older we are, the lesser our earning ability and the higher our expenses. Yet they still waste on such unnecessary things.

@scheng1 Sometimes they use their money to show off they can afford the newest and latest. They want to be in the loop and be cool.

Yes, he does make a good point but not enough to actually marry one. We do depend on our technology devices a little much!

Good grief, those publicity hungry people (or unofficially married to publicity) are mad enough, what will happen if such marriage are also legalized? They have to divorce first to buy new phone Are you willing to get new smartphone, or your present one accepted your proposal offer?

When that man must have proposed his phone, this is what the phone might have responded 'I sure have been receiving a lot of marriage proposals recently.' That's what Siri answers if you propose it. Also, some years ago, an American woman Erica Labrie married the Eiffel Tower and changed her surname to Eiffel.
