I've been working for almost 12 years and it seems that i have no growth. I felt that I'm useless and no progress. I am already 33 years of age, compare to my batch that has only one path in their career they are in their good career/ managerial position right now.But don't get me wrong, I don't feel frustration in fact I am doing good, i have job and see to it that i accomplish something in my life. I have no regret at all.I already accepted that i chose to experience a lot of work, so this is why i could be who I am. It just that i have a personal issue which is I thought a lot, i have no focus and even i am 33 years of age i want to explore things and no focus. Until, i just realized when I watched worship in television and it tackled about contentment in life. One of the message is you should work based on what God wants\will for you. Your working because you have a personal purposes - those are to achieve your goals and dreams. Just focus, have the courage and determination to get it. Because God wants best for us.
In work there's a lot of challenges and sometimes that would lead you to resign, reason to be mad, out of control , blaming others etc. So bottom line is we have a different dreams and goals in life whatever it is just focus on it, ask for His guidance and everything turns to be easy and you can achieve it. Always remember that Work with God.

Your post is a strong proof that wonderful things do happen when we always have our faith in God. There are times that life gives us challenges that sometimes we think we are alone. But we should learn how to be brave and instead of giving up, we have to pray more. Read the scriptures. Listen to worship songs. Count our blessings. That way, we will be able to realize how blessed we are.

Oh..That's good for you! Actually it's a matter of choice. Everything that happened to us is our own choice. I am happy that you found your contentment and your happiness in life. :-)

Hi Julie, in my point of view it doesn't mean that you are not successful just because you have a different path than the one your colleague took. I believe that you are also successful in your own way. In the choices that you made to get you where you are. It might not be the initial course that you plan to take with your life but it doesn't mean you cannot make detours.
I also believe that whatever age you may be you can still accomplish anything just as long as you put your mind to it. There is no such thing as too late.
Do what you want to do and accomplish the things that you still want to accomplish in your life and I'm sure you will be able to reach them all in God's time.

I see the how and why of what you are saying. Like you, I also believe in hope and faith in the King and Creator of the universe. Yes, God always wants the best for His creation-- to bless and give abundantly good things.
"This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man/woman." Ecclesiastes 12:13. I recommend this book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible that you read it. I got the quote from chapter 12.
Peace and happiness to you, @anneguadalupe(21)

Ok...I am also with same story. I had many hurdles in my career. I have almost 18 yrs of work exp but I am not where my friends are. I am no where near them in terms of salary. But I have accepted this and think that God maybe wanted this out of me. I have lots of ambitions to do well in career. I am focusing right now in my self employment.

all i want to say is that, we all have each own path in life, she/he maybe more successful than you but that doesnt mean that you are "useless" God has it's own mysterious ways in doing every little things in your life. and He has a purpose for it. you have your own beauty, talent, knowledge, skills, intelligence that no one in this world has. look at the bright side in your career think that not all people have it. so you just have to stand and chin up because nothing can compare to you.
