Do You Have Strawberries In Your Garden?

I came across Environmental Working Group’s list of The Most Pesticide Laden Produce and this include: Apples, peaches, nectarines, strawberries, grapes, celery, spinach, sweet bell peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, snap peas, potatoes, hot peppers, and Kale/Collard Green. This means it is better to go for organic instead of taking the risk. It is either you plant your own or buy the costly organic produce. I then, have no option but to buy the costly organic strawberries from now on whenever I want to make my favorite strawberry smoothie. Sadly, I can not grow strawberries in my own backyard because of our warm climate. Now the good news is I have celery, spinach, bell peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and hot peppers in my garden already. The rest of the crops such as apples, peaches and the rest do not also grow in our kind of climate but it is okay because I can live without them. Do you have Strawberries or any of these crops in your own backyard?

Nice that you can also grow them in your garden! Yes papayas, pomegranates and bananas are wonderful substitutes for apples and peaches. I do have these fruits in my garden, thank you for reminding me.

It's sad that strawberries are grown nicely in Baguio only . But i suppose they are also laden with pesticides ?

Yes, those from Baguio City are not safe to eat sad to say. I discovered that they are spraying chemicals to strawberries.

@SIMPLYD Some suggested soaking them in water with vinegar or baking soda but there is no assurance that it will remove all pesticide so to me I just buy organic.

I once grew strawberries, but don't anymore. I only buy organic foods or shop at our local farm market. That's wonderful that you grow so many veggies of your own.

People with space are now more into growing their own vegetables and fruits. I live in high rise, so I have limitations. You have quite a collection of vegetables and can buy others - siva
