One of my preferences for the Dragon Ball series

I titled this dicussion as such, because I have several preferences for the Dragon Ball series, and I just want to go over one of them. One of the things I enjoy about the Dragon Ball series is the world building. I enjoy seeing the myriad of alien species that exist within what is now the Dragon Ball Multiverse, as we get mild insights to their cultures, habits, fighting syles, abilities, and to a mild extent, their diets. And sometimes we're given so little details like with Frieza's race, that make us want to learn more about that species.
This is one of the many reasons why the universe 6 arc was my favorite arc in Dragon Ball Super thus far, because we got some new species and abilities. However, I think I might be in the minority of this preference, as I'm left with the impression that the Dragon Ball fandom might prefer more of the same. By that, I mean more Super Saiyans, more Super Saiyan Transformations, and multiversal dopplegangers, hence the popularity of the fan-made comic "Dragonball Multiverse." And it's not to say that I don't like what's been done with Dragon Ball Multiverse, it's just that when it comes to the canon Dragon Ball series, I'm always looking forward to something new and different than in the previous arcs. But as a result I wasn't too thrilled when Frieza was resurrected, nor at the announcement of an "Evil Goku" in Dragon Ball Super.
But Resurrection Of Frieza gave me the aspect of seeing the other Z-Fighters fight, which not having seen that in AGES was pretty enjoyable. And plus, Vegeta got some payback even though, the down side was that he didn't get to kill Frieza...(We'll get to that at a later date...) And from what I've seen from this Evil Goku, there's a mystery behind who and what he is, as oppose to just being an evil Goku from another universe, or timeline. And with as much mystery that surrounds this character, I hope it doesn't amount to that in the end. Because after all that's said and done, if he just turns out to be just an evil Goku from one of the other ten universe, I'mm be really pissed.
So at the end of the day, I can forgive Frieza's return and the Evil Goku,(for the time being ayway) since the execution wasn't half-hearted and lazy pandering. There was some substance, but at the end of the day, I'm hoping the other universes still have new aliens and elements to offer, an I'm hoping the remaining ten gods all various in appearance and abilities. But I won't hold those hopes too high.

I really liked Dragon Ball Z Kai, but I'm not into the whole Dragon Ball series.

@CaptAlbertWhisker LOL!!!! Did you argue that point with Dragon Ball fanboys too? Because I'm aware that a lot of them HATE Super and think it sucks. And admittedly I've got my qualms with it as well. For Starters the Battle Of Gods and Resurrection Of F arcs aren't as good as their cinematic counterparts, as the pacing is sluggish, and fights aren't as intense. It got better during the universe six arc with the display of new techniques and abilities from Botamo, Magetta, Hit, and Kabba's nimble manuevers in his fight with Vegeta. On a side note, the way Kabba and Vegeta fought looked like a different fighting style. Almost like a monkey-like martial art devised by them, which would've added more to the Saiyan culture. Though there are certain elrments in the Universe 6 arc I could've lived without, like Frost being Frieza with Lex Luthor's business sense... I meanthat came IMMEDIATELY after Golden Frieza. Why would we need a more business savy alternate universe Frieza so soon? And there was so much potential in him actuaslly being a good guy desparate to save his universe. But I forgot, DBZ fans HATE character development...

@JESSY3236 That's probably for the best, as the DragonBall fandom can get a little obnoxious... Hell you've seen Dragon Ball Z Kai, meaning you've seen from the Saiyan Saga to the Cell Saga.(assuming you haven't seen the Buu saga yet...) Thing is the Dragon Ball series is as long as it is, because of the fandom is highly demanding. DragonBall started as a one-shot that ended with Oolong wishing for a pair of panties, as the dragon balls were then dispersed throughout the Earth never to be seen for centuries. But, the story became so successful that fans wanted more. And the series kept running until Toriyama decided to end it with Goku defeating Piccolo at the World Martial Arts Tournament, and getting engaged to ChiChi. But the fans wanted to see more. You'll notice a pattern here, but in my opinion it wasn't all bad. Krillin was supposed to have killed Vegeta at the end of the Saiyan saga, but Vegeta had gotten so popular that he was spared. Which is why he's been around this entire time, however by extention, Dragon Ball Z was supposed to have ended with Goku defeating Frieza and dying on Namek. But the fans weren't too happy with that hence why he returned inn the Android Saga. Toriyama tried to kill Goku off again at the end of the Cell saga because he wanted Gohan to succeed Goku, but again with Goku as the main character in DragonBall for so long, the fandom wasn't having it.
And by the way everything I explained occured in Japan from 1989 to 1995, and that's just the fans in Japan. Don't even get my started on the Foreign fans in America and beyond.

Then he's not on Beerus' level if he is to lose to Goku, because Goku isn't there yet. Plus Toriyama has stated that Goku won't surpass Beerus. Though with the way things are now that is subject to change... plus the Gods Of Destruction, if Beerus and Champa are any indication aren't inherently evil unlike Goku Black... Still though, the fact that such a theory exist makes me want to give Toriyama credit for not making him an outright doppleganger from another universe... But much like I said in my post that had better not be the case when it's all said and done.
Because if it turns out that he's just an evil doppleganger from one of the other universes instead of something else entirely, that's gonna piss me off. Because that means that all of this discussion and interesting theories would have been for nought.

@Dramista He's gonna have to be stronger than Goku is now, as "a stronger enemy than the previous enemy" is the trend of DBZ. However he'd need to be weaker than Beerus, but stronger than Golden Frieza. And possibly weaker than Hit, since we don't know the full extent of Hit's power. But he still would need to be stronger than Goku.
And yeah, "an evil doppleganger" would have been boring, hence why when the announcement was made, I was ready to outright dimiss Goku Black. But the fact that he's wearing a kai's earring, the inhuman, almoset monstrous form he had when he appeared, before taking on Goku's form, and how he said he was eliminating humanity in Trunks' timeline for "Great Justice," has me intrigued. "What is this thing that has taken on Goku's form and powers and what does it want?" But yeah hopefully he's stronger than Goku, because that Supersaiyan BluexKaioken combo, I wanna see what else Goku's got up his sleeve. Because if this is goona down the way I think it is, this thing's gonna know Goku's techniques and be able to predict his moves, so he's gonna have to out smart it.
But, I won't get my hopes up too high, otherwise I'mma end up disappointed... Besides I know how this community gets when Toriyama adds an interesting wrinkle, like Beerus not being downright evil, or the concept of a "good Frieza." They get agitated... So at the end of the day, Goku Black might end up just being an evil doppleganger, because that's what the fandom wants. Because if it turns out that he's the created by an evil Kai, or another God of Destruction, there might be some fans who hate that idea.

Call me weird but I am starting to get fascinated with the whole romance thing between the 45 year old Mai and 12 year old Kid Trunks. There is a debate inside my mind wether Mai is pedo or not. I mean she is turned into a little girl younger than Trunks by the Dragonball.
She is this prude 45 year old Prude virgin because she wasted all her life being a villainous minion of Mr. Pilaf and now she have this boy who is giving her all that attention.
Also does Mai count as a Cougar?

Don't know much about this series. Just know my kids like it. They're enthusiastic about discussing it just like you.

I'd find that interesting if Dragon Ball Z Kai and Dragon Ball Super didn't introduce the series to a new generation of kids. But yeah, I've been a Dragon Ball fan since I first saw Dragon Ball Z back in 1996 at seven years of age. As a result I've become a complete geek for the franchise to the point to where it's inspired me as a writer and artist.
But I trust your kids have told you about the gist of the series' storyline?

@TheHorse Really? Because it's all geek to me. xD
Joking aside, welcome to a typical geek conversation. Conversations like the one you read between me and Li-anne are normal for me. Whether I be discussing Doctor Who, Dragon Ball Z, Transformers, Comic-book Superheroes, videogames, other anime, etc.
But to give you the gist of what we're talking about, here it is:"You've got this character named Son Goku, and if you're familar with The Monkey King for the Chinese tale "Journey To The West," that's who Goku was based off of. In fact he's like the Monkey King if you gave him some of Superman's powers and back story, as Goku is the last survivor of an alien race, who's planet was destroyed shortly after he was born. Except Goku's acquired his strength and powers through martial arts training, as Dragon Ball came about during the time when Chinese kung-fu movies were very popular. But I digress, right now in the series Goku's adversary is aesthetically an evil doopleganger of himself. Except with the way this doppleganger acts, talks, and showed up out of nowhere bearing a monstrous silhouette that didn't look human, there's something more to him than that.
As a result the Dragon Ball fandom has multiple theories based on who or what this doppleganger might be, which is what Li-Anne and I were discussing."
Did any of what I just said make sense to you?

@TheHorse Man, I thought that would work. Okay this might be simpler:"Son Goku is an alien raised on Earth like Superman, except he was trained to be a martial artist. And he's spent thirty some odd years of his life saving the world from bad guys and searching for seven magical balls that grant a wish via a magical dragon when gathered together. Right now at this point in the series, Son Goku is confronted by an evil doppleganger who might be something more than a mirror duplicate from an alternate universe. What Li-Anne and I were discussing were theories on who or what this "Evil Goku" could be."
