A response to a @Jessicalynnt five word poetry challenge uing the word hot, got, plot, pot, lot.
Having A Heatwave
It got hot a lot earlier this Season
Hard to plot the weather charts and reason
Our way through what the satellite says nowadays
The anti-climate lobby says its all conspiracy and plot
But such notions are utter Tommy-rot
When we are dusty, thirsty, sweating, sweltering,
Trying to find shaded sheltering
From the blazing Sun
Children splash in the river having fun
Until the drought takes the water away
If we use too much H2O there’ll be fines to pay
Uncomfortable warm baby cries in his cot
It got hot – it got hot – it got hot
The news reports the heatstroke’s latest kill
Tomorrow I going to be even hotter still.

@Asylum I have had heatstroke twice, once in Morocco, 1978 and then at Glastonbury in 85

As always, a lovely entry! I liked it. I never know what direction you are going to go with things, another reason I love this challenge.

@Jessicalynnt words have such infinite potential like chess there are limited potential moves but millions of options and combinations
