Child neglect

As the summer heat comes upon we will begin to hear more and more stories of neglectful parents leaving their kids in the cars. I don't understand how this happens. You put 3 kids in the car and buckle them up, you only take 2 to daycare and you get home and leave the baby in the car. On my way to work this morning after the radio host reported this story he talked about an incident he witnessed in a supermarket. A mother on her phone as her toddler walks away, he had to alert her that her child was wandering off. I know as parents we are focused on many things, but when you are in the presence of your kids they need to be the major focus. just my 2 cents
