Texting a random number?

My friend got this message from an unknown number. She hands her number out to guys who walk by. So this number has texted her a number of times.
The guy I dated a few times has her number and I can see one of his friends doing this to her. She kept texting me so I texted them (she is very paranoid if someone she doesn't know contacts her yet she hands her number out on dating sites).
I texted the person and has been having a conversation for a good two hours back and forth. Now if a strange number texted you would you continue to have a conversation with them for hours?.

i wouldnt. i think its a little on the creepy side. did she ask for a name so she can look him up on facebook or other social medias so she can be clued in to who she is texting?

There is no way that I would keep texting them after 2 hours. But she should not just hand her number out either.
