Do you have a favorite color?

No, really, I'm not asking people to tell me their favorite color, unless they can also explain what it is about that color that they like... Bear with me, I'll get to the point of my discussion sooner or later... So, my favorite color is a deep blue-violet. But I like most "jewel-tone" colors. My preferences are colors in the blue to green range, but there's a lot to be said about dark reds. Not reds with blacks to make them dark, but red that are really saturated with red. I will say that I don't like yellow much, even if my favorite animal is mostly in the yellow to brown range (giraffes.) I have never cared for yellow, but I have reasons to not like it even more since the 1980's. That's another story however... So... Now I finally get to the point of my discussion. Did you know they have discovered a new color blue? This looks to be a beautiful blue, one that really captures what I call saturated color too. Have a look...

I guess I don't see yellow as "shiny." Gold, silver and other metalics are shiny. I really can't wear yellow myself because it makes me look like I have a liver problem.

@ElicBxn It is shiny because its the first you can notice when you look around you, well, that is what learned from what I read in one paper.

Did you look at the beautiful new blue they've discovered? I mean, blue is blue, but this is a more stable blue than most of the previous blues have been.

There are the colors that I like to have around and others that I like to wear that have to do with my skin color. For me, I like reds and fushsias in summer and cozy browns in winter.

I like fuchsias, that's about the only "pink" I care for, but probably because its both saturated and on the purple end of the pink scale. I'm not much into brown, probably because I don't look especially good in brown. I look like I have a liver problem in yellows... LOL

I don't hate most colors. My strong distaste for yellow is more because of a bad event that happened. Penny for your thoughts. Why does "pink" and "lavender" have their own words while "light blue" and "light green" don't? And, is there really a pastel for yellow?

@ElicBxn the most common pastel colors are for pink green light blue and even some kind of purple but i think yellow have also... I see those colors on the "macarons" cookies:)

Wow, I love that color! My favorite color is purple. It is the combination of red and blue. Every shade of purple is my favorite.

I'm not so fond of the redder purples and I find most of the "lavenders" kind of muddy - but then again, I know that white is actually the only true color that isn't actually transparent.

That is a nice color, intense without going into the darker ranges of the color scale. I prefer darker colors, I find over bright colors tire my eyes these days... guess I'm getting old...
