Deep Dark Forest of Our Very Own

The trees have filled in with their dark green foliage of summer in the woods behind my backyard. I won't go in alone, but go I do.
There is a magnificent waterfall with rushing water, my favorite. There are hiking trails where people walk, jog, snowshoe, and cross country ski. There are picnic tables, exercise stations, and benches to sit.
Hiding within these woods are critters that frighten me. They don't frighten others, however. So when I visit, I walk with the brave and mighty.
No homes can be built on this conservation trust property, owned by our town.
I'm kind of lucky to have this as an extension of my backyard. Ya think?

@Juliaacv In the fall, perhaps. We went to Chicago instead. We're too busy with all the work we are doing on the house. Actually, we're meeting the decorators later today to look at floor plans, etc. I also have to babysit my son's female cat when he and his fiancé go on a snorkeling vacation in Mexico to look at whale sharks. No time for me!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous @DianneN . Only 3 acres of my 16 1/2 acre property is cleared so I do have a lot of forest. Trust me, I am very careful when traipsing around.

@hereandthere Fox, coyotes, wild hogs, poisonous spiders and snakes. Every one of those but the fox is of a serious danger.

I like the suburbs best but also have a place in the city where all the action is. When I want nature I go to Yosemite National Park and hike around. I do think you're lucky however. That's just me though (probably many others also) and for all we know, luck is in the eye of the beholder or in the mind's eye as they say.

Wow, it is so nice that this conservation trust property is just behind your backyard . I suppose in summer , even if it's hot it will not be actually really hot there because of those trees there .
Though , i won;t dare walk through them alone . I am afraid of forests , because there might be snakes .
