Is The Ball Really That Round?

I cannot help talking about the Euro Cup 2016 match between Iceland and England. One would clearly shut both eyes and pick England to win and proceed to the quarterfinals. Somehow, fate or whatever has it another way and what seems like a David vs Goliath really came back on our face as we all watched how Iceland brought the game to the favorites England and won 2-1.
How could this have happened? Black Magic? White Magic? Voodoo? Now, let's not forget that all the players on England are professional league players who should have their A game in their legs. Maybe the sponsors intentionally mixed up their sizes last minute or have some jumping beans in their team uniform.
No offense to UK fans but what I saw is a lackluster, no dedication and half commitment team - worrying that they won't be playing for their clubs when the league season start. What a shame? I think some heads should roll here but it certainly not be the coach's one here.
Incredibly outrageous.
P.S.
I just like Iceland's positive attitude and spirit.

I have to agree with you here but I believe you would ask the question where is justice in all these. Surely the national officials could see right through but instead of chastising the guilty players the coach becomes the scapegoat to get the boot instead. This is just unfair and outright despicable.

Well, no team in sports is unbeatable. It so happened that the players of Iceland were playing great while the English were not in their best.

Well as you said, the ball is round. There is always a winner and a loser in a game; but sportsmanship should prevail.

In a soccer game of these modern times, I believe we are all looking for justice than sportsmanship. These days we are see professional players playing with an attitude and I can assure you that it isn't anywhere near the top 3 grades. Surely, the incentives are much more in their professional leagues but they should remember that it was through their performance at national level that got them to where they are and that patriotism should be there when they donned on their national colors.
