I have been reading this book for so long now and wanted to finally finish it. I can't believe how long it has taken me to read this 400 page book.
It is called "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. It is about a man who is a doctor and his wife gives birth to twins the baby girl with down syndrome. He gives the baby girl to the nurse and tells her to take her to a home and tells the wife that the baby died. The nurse takes the baby away and raises her.
It was a really good book and I stayed up until 1 am last night to finish it. I let my kids stay up as well and expected they would sleep in very late today. Nope they were up at 9:30 am.
I'm glad I finally finished it so now I can get one entry into the adult summer reading program yay!!

That is awesome I hope you like the book. Let me know how the movie is. If I can't find it on Amazon Prime I will see if my library can get it for me.

Did the birth mother and daughter ever meet later on in life? Was it not a fast-paced book that it took longer than normal for you to read it, or are you just busier in life right now?

@shaggin I'm not reading much right now because I know if I do then I won't have time to come here too nor do any of the things needing done at home. Already I put those off too long. I have several ebooks I'd like to read again, but I'm holding off on those too.
Before I began being the sole worker in my family for our business, I was able to read a lot more, but now that I work full-time as a cashier and then lead a crew cleaning windows, plus I do all the paperwork except the end of year taxes and scheduling. So, I get behind as is without reading too.

wow, an adult summer reading program, now that is a twist. I wish my library offered something like that. I know they often have those programs for kids and offer rewards for reading. My son isn't much of a reader though, I couldn't ever get him interested in something like that. He reads now..but just magazines that he is interested in. I don't think I ever saw him read a book for pleasure honestly.

Our library did last year and the prize was a kindle. I didn't enter as I thought I had to go to boring meetings but I was wrong :( This one is about 45 minutes from me but I will just drop off my entry on the way to get groceries at walmart tonight. My kids wouldn't go to the summer reading program at our library this year it is aimed to much at little kids. I did sign them up for events at other libraries though about an hours drive away.

Sounds like a good book going to have to look into this one for my list for reading for next year. What is your next book you will be reading.

I just finished a Christmas novel and usually I start another one but I found a new book at our local library by a local author that I started last night. It is about 4 different murders in the history of our area. I have read two other books of hers on the same topic but those books were only about one murder.
