Preparing to be Bored

I went to the library on Friday to pick up a couple of books to take with me to New York. I had a list of ten books I wanted to read this summer. I picked out three, The Ladies Room by Carolyn Brown, Seraphina by Rachel Hartman, and Dark Tides by Chris Ewan.
The Ladies Room is a humorous romance and I’ve had it on my list for quite a while. Seraphina is a young adult fantasy fiction and Dark Tides is a thriller.
I thought I did a good job of picking out books, but when my husband saw the stack of books, he scowled.
“I know you’re not looking forward to spending two weeks with MY family, but I don’t think you’ll be bored.”
I told him, “Better safe than sorry.”
Actually I enjoy his family, but I can only sit around and visit for so long. An occasional break with time on the computer and engrossed in a good book will make it easier to maintain a positive attitude.
Do you take reading material along when you go on vacation?

Of course I do! It is part of it. Actually, as this week I´m going for my vacation, I am very unhappy that noone I know can download kindle or amazon in my tablet so that I can buy ebooks.

I always bring along a book whenever I am out.
It does not matter if I am just going for grocery shopping or a short trip out of country.
I will never be without a book.
I think 3 books for 2 weeks are reasonable. You just need to read an hour every night, and you can finish all the books.

Whenever I go anywhere where I'm going to be doing a lot of sitting, I bring something to read. I haven't been on a vacation in years, but I have been bored to tears in other things that take an immense amount of time out of my day, like my trips to Milwaukee to the dentist. Right now I'm reading John Grisham's novel Gray Mountain. It's an edge of your seat page turner.

No, I don't carry books; just my cellphone and other personal things because I want to enjoy the place. But in your case, you know the situation so it is alright to carry those books so you can maximize your time.

I know my husband won't roll out of bed until eleven. We're staying with one of his brothers but they will be going to work. His other brother and his wife will be off. We'll head over there right after lunch each day. I will not be taking a book with me.

I wish you were a little closer to where I live, we could get together for lunch but it would require we each travel at least an hour!!

No. never. Do the things at the appropriate place is always good and should be followed. Reading a book while traveling is accepted but spending time reading a book is not at all favored by me. Vacations are meant for traveling, sharing with friends, and do some useful things either for a house or for yourself. Spending such vacation reading books may,in my opinion, does not seem to be appropriate.

My husband likes to sleep in but I don't. What reading I do will be early in the morning before the rest of the household is up. It will not take away time spent with family and friends, or the things we plan to do.
