I brush my teeth after every meal; however, I let 30 minutes pass, before every brush.

@sunilparthan I read that one has to allow the mouth to get less acid before brushing the teeth.

It is all right to brush twice a day.
Many friends brush 3 times a day. They do it after lunch in the office too.
You just have to pay attention to the toothbrushes that you use.
Make sure you change to a new one more frequently, and the new one must not cause bleeding gum.

Well, although my doctor said I have to brush my teeth at least two times a day, but I do it 4 times in a day to be sure of cavities.

I'm not a dentist (the person most qualified to answer such a question) but I've always understood the best practice to be twice a day—once in the morning and once before going to bed. People also brush as needed after eating strongly spiced food (i.e., garlic). When I worked full time, I used to rinse my mouth out with water after lunch and keep floss handy.
